A Quiet Spot for a Vacation
This comfortable rustic three bedroom house is located at 1700 feet, high in the foothills of Stratton Mountain. Located on a dead-end dirt road, it is both quiet and convenient. A beautiful pond is a couple of steps away from the house. The House is 1.5 miles from the Stratton Base lodge, a ski area where, tennis, golf, horseback riding and concerts can be found in the summer and great skiing in the winter.
Spacious & Comfortable
Warm and friendly, the house includes, bedding, dishes, cutlery and utensils. Everything is provided. Outside of the house is a 22″ Weber Kettle Grill for cooking steaks, corn, hamburgers and hot dogs.
One bedroom downstairs with a queen bed, two bedrooms upstairs, one with a double bed and one with two double beds.
Downstairs – a tub with a shower and a sink in one room and a toilet and a sink in another room.
Upstairs – one bathroom with a shower.
The Cole House is half of a rambling two-family dwelling. The other half has its own entrance and driveway and is used by the owners when they are around. It is not rented out. It During the summer months, the owners stay up the road.
A Private Pond
The Cabin is a few steps from a spring-fed 3/4 acre private pond. The pond is a great place to enjoy the sun on a hot day, go for an afternoon swim or do some recreational, catch and return fishing. A rowboat is provided. The grassy banks of the pond provide safe and easy entry into the water for young children and a lovely screened gazebo graces the far shore. The pond is shared by the Cole House, but otherwise is private.
Lots to Do Nearby
From the cabin, it is a pleasant hike or a short drive to a waterfall at Pikes Falls, a beautiful rocky place for diving, sun bathing or hiking as well as a cool dip. $1500 a week or $250 a night with a four day minimum plus Vermont and Town Rooms Tax for rentals under 30 days in the summer. Monthly or seasonal rates are negotiable. A deposit of half your rent holds your reservation and is refundable up to 30 days before the start of your stay. Before arrival, the rental balance is due plus a refundable $100 per week damage deposit. Electricity, heat and firewood are included in the reasonable rates in the summer. Weeks usually start on a Saturday after 4 PM and end on the following Saturday at 10 am. Children and pets are welcome.
The house may be rented for the ski season (December-mid April). Families are given preference.
